PLEASE HELP! droid 2 won't turn onn?!?

i have a droid 2 global, and alot of times it over heats and when it does i have to take the battery out and let it cool and then put it back in - no problem. i wake up to find it overheated and i tried taking out the battery and putting it back in and it didn't turn on, it is charged, i had it charged all night and tried unplugging it and everything. when i hold the on button i get the motorola sign and then it starts flashing. the phone has never gotton wet or badly dropped. but i doubt those are the reasons. it was working fine yesterday. what can i do?!
